Pittsburg Steelers Win Superbowl XLIII!
Written by footballfan on February 2nd, 2009
Yesterday’s Superbowl between the Pittsburg Steelers and the Arizona Cardinals was a much better game than I had anticipated it would be! I wouldn’t consider myself a true fan of either team but I was rooting for the Arizona Cardinals even though I thought the Steelers would clobber them.
I told my dad (early in the first quarter) that I thought the Steelers would win by at least 3 touchdowns… boy was I wrong! The Arizona Cardinals came really close to pulling off a huge upset and if they hadn’t committed several untimely personal fouls, the game might have turned out differently.
Speaking of those personal fouls, I thought two of them were really questionable. Yes, the defenders made contact but when viewing the replays, they looked rather tame to me.
I realize that we, who are watching the game at home, get a different vantage point (and perspective) than the refs do on the field but I’d sure like to know if the referees would stick with their original calls after seeing the replays themselves.
Oh well, I’ll never know the answer to that question and sure don’t want to take anything away from the Steelers. They fought back and executed perfectly every time it really mattered.
Congrats to all Steelers fans out there… you ought to be proud!
